I have heard a couple of versions of this. One says he was found dead in the bathroom (by the housekeeper) after having a seizure and hitting his head on the tub. Another says John was with him and held him in his arms as he was dying. Either way, it is a tragic loss.

The way I have been reading it, the housekeeper found him, once John was alerted to it he started CPR on his son and continued trying to save him until paramedics got there. Maybe that's what was meant by him dying in his fathers arms.
Very tragic indeed, I think that must be the worst thing for a parent to go thru.
